Contributory Aged Parent visa (subclass 864)

This permanent residence visa enables an aged parent of a settled Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to migrate permanently to Australia.  You must be old enough to receive the age pension in Australia.

Once this visa is granted, you can:

• Stay in Australia permanently with unlimited work and study rights
• Enrol in Australia’s public Medicare healthcare system
• Sponsor relatives to visit Australia
• Travel to and from Australia for 5 years
• Become an Australian citizen if eligible
