Sponsored Parent (Temporary) visa (subclass 870)

This temporary residence visa enables a parent of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to visit Australia for up to 5 years. You are not allowed to undertake paid employment while holding this visa.

Once this visa is granted, you can:

• Reunite with children and visit Australia for up to 3 or 5 years per subclass 870 visa
• Apply for further subclass 870 visas with a maximum period of 10 years in Australia
