This temporary residence visa enables an Australian employer to sponsor a suitably skilled worker to fill a position when the employer cannot find a suitably skilled Australian worker. Choosing the right visa stream depends on your occupation and employer.
Once this visa is granted, you can:
- Work and study in Australia for up to 4 years (5 years for Hong Kong passport holders)
- Travel to and from Australia while your visa is valid
- Apply for permanent residence, if eligible (Medium-Term stream only)

I came to Australia to see my son who is a computer engineer( first class honours)admitted to the Shellharbour Hospital through Wollongong Hospital . Now doctors say my son needs parental care to overcome the situation. Also he doesn’t fully covered for medical expenses with the BUPA insurance he has.
